Stays of one month are ideal, and two weeks works well. Shorter bookings can sometimes be accommodated depending on the season and availability.

What’s Inside the Casitas

Each casita comes set up with the basics you actually need. Fresh towels, linens and pillows. Bedroom air conditioning. Fans in the living areas. A TV and Wi Fi. A small desk, wardrobe, hangers and a luggage rack so you are not living out of a suitcase. The kitchens have dishes, cutlery, glassware, a coffee maker, kettle, pots and pans. It is simple, tidy and well equipped for normal day to day living.

Cleaning and Laundry

A clean casita at checkout is essential, and a cleaning deposit is held for this reason. Most guests choose to use the onsite cleaner, and it is strongly recommended. For about 500 pesos you receive four to five hours of thorough cleaning, including laundry, which is excellent value in the area. The owner prefers that only the cleaner uses the laundry equipment as repairs and replacements have been costly in the past. If you prefer to handle your own cleaning, there is a local laundry service in the village. Regular cleaning every one to two weeks keeps the casita comfortable and helps avoid end of stay surprises.

Special Requests

Some extras can be arranged, but they need to be discussed in advance. Parking is not standard here. Most guests arrive by taxi or bus. There is an informal spot beside the property that usually has space, but it is not guaranteed, not secured and not part of the property. Use it at your own comfort level.

Fridge stocking may be possible if requested ahead of time. There is a fee for time and the cost of groceries, and flexibility helps because not everything is always available in the village.

For airport arrivals and departures, we can point you toward local drivers who know the area and charge fair rates. Travel through the airport can take time, especially with checked bags, so plan a generous buffer. The owner does not offer pickups, but you will not have trouble finding a reliable ride.

Before You Decide To Book

We want you to have a wonderful vacation, so please read the following and make sure Casa Esperanza is the right fit for you.

Casa Esperanza sits on a hillside in the jungle. Birds, insects, wild animals and village sounds are part of everyday life. It is beautiful, peaceful and real. This is not a resort bubble. Guests should be comfortable with nature and the environment.

Mobility

The property is not suitable for guests with mobility issues. There are fifteen steps from the street to each unit. Interior stairs lead to the bedroom and bathroom level. The pool and shared BBQ patio also require stairs.

Children

The property is not designed for young children. The hillside layout, stair design and open railings are not child-friendly and the property does not include child-safety features.

Pets

No pets are allowed.

Air Conditioning

Both Seahorse and Parrot have air conditioning in the bedrooms. There is a non-operational older AC unit in the main living area. It is not available for guest use. The casitas are well ventilated and most guests stay comfortable during the fall through spring seasons.

General Considerations

You are in the jungle. Wildlife, bugs, humidity and natural sounds are normal. We cannot control roosters, chachalacas, church bells, music, car engines, fiestas or fireworks. And, there is a lot to celebrate in all of Mexico.

WiFi is usually good, but it can have moods. Hot water and water pressure can shift. Power is reliable but may flicker or outages can happen.

Wildlife may pass through the property. Please do not feed wild or stray animals. It encourages them to return and can create unsafe situations.

Common Sense and Courtesy

This is a small property on a jungle hillside, please be mindful. Seal food. Keep doors closed, Do not flush toilet paper. Wear shoes outside.

Your host, Esperanza, speaks English and Spanish and is happy to help with questions or local information.

If Casa Esperanza matches your comfort level, you will have a memorable stay in one of the most delightful parts of Jalisco, Mexico.
